Mike Kelley was born in Tucson, AZ and raised in the Bay Area. He was converted at age twenty-three and worked for United Airlines at the San Francisco Airport for fourteen years. Mike attended the Grace School of Theology and Ministry in Pleasant Hill, completing his studies in 2000. He received an M.A. from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2004. He served as a pastor of Lighthouse Bible Church in Fremont and on the pastoral staff at Grace Bible Church in Escondido, before coming to Gateway in November 2016. Mike and his wife, Judy, live in Brentwood. They have four children and thirteen grandchildren.
Jeff Escott was ordained as an elder in 2019. He is Senior Architect/Project Manager at Dahlin Group in Pleasanton. He and his wife, Katy, have two daughters and a son. They live in Livermore, CA.
Chris Santiago served as an elder from 2000-2002 and was ordained again as an elder in 2024. He worked as a software engineer for Chevron and Bank of America in the Bay Area. In 2002, the church commissioned and sent Chris with his wife to do gospel work overseas. He completed an M.A. in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary and a doctorate in Intercultural Studies from Western Seminary. In 2022, after serving the Lord overseas for twenty years, he and family moved back to the U.S. He currently serves at a Christian school, California Crosspoint Academy. He is thankful for his wife Shirley and their son Timothy who both love and serve the Lord. They enjoy biking and traveling.
Deacons
Therefore brethren, seek out from among you, men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom whom we may appoint over this business Acts 6:3. Let these also first be tested, then let them serve as deacons I Timothy 3:10.
Jim Mackanic is a semi-retired Systems Quality Engineer for Sandia Laboratories. He became a deacon in 2023. Jim and his wife Judy have spent many years living abroad with their children and now reside in Livermore, CA. He and Judy also founded King’s Classical Academy in Livermore, CA.
Michael Zendejas became a deacon in 2024. He and his wife Wendy have lived in Livermore since 2003. They have two daughters. Wendy has been a teacher for over 25 years and Michael retired from his first career after 21 years of service. He is now looking forward to seeing what’s next…
